Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve updated…will try to keep up on it a little better. So, I’ve been selling items left and right on Ebay. This one was a pretty cool deal. I went to an estate auction and found 7 of these friction cars in a box and bought the whole box for $40.00. So, I listed this Camaro for $9.99 about a month ago. By the end of the auction…..not one bid. So, I put it back in the box that i bought in and stuck it in the basement.
I started listing other items about a week ago and decided to hit the relist button on the Camaro. It actually sold for over $38 dollars + shipping. No bids until the last 10 minutes…I was pumped to see it sell for that price. I guess it all depends on when you list it or who’s looking at the time.
I’ve also put an add on Craigslist, Buying US Silver Coins 10X Face Value. I’ve had a few people call and spent about 400 bucks so far. Silver is so hard to know if your gonna make money or not, it’s over $18 an ounce one day and down to $13 the next. So, I’m paying $10 for a morgan dollar that the weight alone is an ounce. Plus, you never know….I may get that one coin that’s worth a small fortune.
Well….like I said, I will try to keep up with the blogs and the goal meter. Tomorrows a new day, who knows what I’ll flip….I will let you know…BTW the goal meter should read just over 4k…I’m getting closer!!
I bought this Walt Kelly set of comic figures for $3. It is on Ebay now and up to $10.50. I’ve seen these go for as high as $35. They are from 1969 and usually you don’t see them as a full set. I was lucky enough to get them all. I really need to stop metal detecting and working so much to go to that dreadful auction that I hate so much. You know, they have such horrible food and terrible deals….ok sarcasm is so underated. I really have been wanting to go and I’ve seen some great auctions pass and decided to do something different. I think I may dedicate a little more time to this and get to the 10k mark a little faster. What really sucks is winter is coming and I just don’t like being cold! It’s one of the worst feelings, other than the horrible pain of passing a kidney stone.
If you want to see where it goes, my Ebay ID is thejunkflipper. I have slacked a bit on listing, but I will be doing more after the busy upcoming weekend.
After about a week and a half, the truck finally sold! There were about 20 offers for trades for anything from cars to trucks, motorcycles, hunting equipment and games. Craigslist came through. After I finally washed it and spent 12 dollars in some undercoating around the wheel wells, it sold for $1200. So, I made a $700 dollar profit. Not bad for about 2 hours work into getting it to look ok. I probably could’ve got about $1500 for it, but was happy with what I got. The guy that bought it was really liking it and I was glad to see his excitement when he got out of the car to see it. I kinda knew right away he wanted it. I held it for him for a day and he came back like he promised. So, now, what’s next. My neighbor has 3 stand up arcade video games, none of them work, but he only wants $240 dollars for all of them and a 1960’s mini pinball game. The pinball game is only worth about $50 in working condition, worthless if it’s not because the pc board cannot be replaced. So, it’s something for me to think about for the next flip. He also has all of his childhood toys with alot of Marx playsets and Lincoln log playsets from the 50’s. I definately would buy them for the right price….who knows whats next. I have more cash to work with and can’t wait to find the next flipper!
I bought this truck the other day for $500. I listed it on Craigslist and have had tons of people wanting to trade other cars, hunting gear, motorcycles, and there was one guy that offered a rail buggy. I’m hoping to get around $1200 out of it. There was a couple of good offers for trade, one guy had a 98′ Toyota with some nice 21 inch rims that would bring in more than the truck. So, if he brings it by and it’s in as good of shape as the picture he sent, I might just do it. I refuse to trade down or get low balled (offers that are rediculously low). It’s got a For Sale sign in it and sitting by the road that says make offer. Just incase someone wants to offer more than I want. I also got a set of 38 inch Muddin tires and rims in the deal, I figure I’ll sell them seperate for an extra couple hundred bucks. I’ll let you know what it sells for
I found the Nintendo NES System at a yard sale for $40. It sold for $96. I more than doubled my money on it. There’s a couple of reasons that they sell so well. First, to bring back childhood memories, I mean, I actually spent so much time with the Mario Brothers that I felt like they were part of the family. And I’ll never forget sitting in my room with Boston playing on the AM/FM Cassette Boombox, shooting ducks till my trigger finger ached.. People loved these games and theres a few games worth some bucks……The second reason is guys are buying them to replace the part that the game slides into with the better 72 pin slot and resell them as refurbished. All in all, if you can pick these up cheap…do it. Then Flip it. The more games with it the better. Just the other day I picked up 2 systems, 5 controllers, 1 zapper gun and 6 games for $20…They are listed on Ebay and will be going off tomorrow, I started them at $9.99, they’re up to $10.45 with about 15 watchers. I’m hoping to at least double my money but anything over $20 will make me happy…..we’ll see.
